A Cold Winter Engagement at Peace Valley Park

I hopped out of my old, early 2000s blue Toyota Prius in the parking lot at Peace Valley Park. There was hardly a cloud in the sky and with the beautiful Lake in the distance, I knew this would be a good session. The light was going to be perfect. That winter light was starting to form. The only problem was it was about 23 degrees. There was no way this would be an easy session. I certainly didn’t want to be the reason for Donovan & Lauren’s frostbite. When they arrived, looking so stylish, I might add, they were on the same page of being super excited to shoot at this pretty location with beautiful light, but definitely not excited about the bitter cold.

Thankfully, these two are practically models and were so easy to work with! They got the hang of things so, so fast! Donovan & Lauren pretty much snuggled the entire session to stay warm and the photos turned out awesome! If it’s gonna’ be cold, at least give me that good light! These two did an amazing job!

Their Engagement Story: As Told By Lauren

Donovan proposed on August 6, 2016. We were down the shore in LBI at my sister’s beach house and we were all getting ready for dinner. I was the last to be done getting ready because, well, that’s always me. I was actually on time though, so I excitedly told my brother in law, I wasn’t going to be late for once! Well that wasn’t good because everyone expected me to be late like usual. They weren’t ready for me so they tried to stall me which really didn’t help.

Finally, I downstairs and went out back and rounded the corner to my entire family standing there wearing shirts that spell out “Will You Marry Me?” I couldn’t believe it! I wasn’t expecting it at all and I just stood in there in shock before noticing Donovan. Down on one knee asking me to marry him! I immediately said yes and jumped into his arms that became the most amazing day ever!
