A Snow Storm Engagement at Valley Forge National Park

We had this session planned since the beginning of October. As usual, we checked the weather to make sure it wouldn’t rain. Instead, it said there was a possibility of snow! We were so excited because normally this never happens. Every year there is always one couple who wants a snow shoot and typically we have to wait until we see snow in the forecast and hope that we can make our schedules work to go shoot. It’s always a last minute sort of thing. This year, it just happened to land on an already scheduled engagement session!

Sara and Joe froze with us during the session, but I think they’d agree that it was so worth it! We love the way these images turned out! We’ve never shot during snowfall. Most of the time we tend to shoot the day after the snowfall, but in this case, we were shooting right in the thick of the snow storm. By the end of the night, I think there was somewhere around 4 or 5 inches on the ground. We had a blast with these two! We learned that we were connected through multiple people. Joe and Steph attended high school together at Upper Merion; Sara went to Plymouth Whitemarsh and knows Josiah’s dad who is a guidance counselor there. They were also referred to us by another bride and groom of ours! So funny how everyone can be so connected. We loved shooting with them, chatting about their Boxer pup, Murphy, and hearing about their wedding plans. They’re celebrating their wedding at The Radnor Hotel next October after tying the knot in a local church! We can’t wait to celebrate with them!

Their Engagement Story: As Told By Sara

We got engaged on May 12th. It was my birthday weekend and my girlfriend took me out to dinner to celebrate that night. I came home to a huge surprise party at our house! Everyone was there! All of our friends and all of our family. It came time for the cake, which a friend handmade and was beautiful. Everyone is singing happy birthday and I go to close my eyes and blow out the candles, but when I open them, Joe is there, on one knee in front of me. I was in such shock I couldn’t even form words. The only ones that knew were both of our parents and my girlfriend that took me out to dinner. It wasn’t only a shock to me, but to everyone else! He did so awesome and I couldn’t imagine it any other way!
