Jackson & Emily
A Snowy Engagement Session in Valley Forge Park
Two snow engagement sessions in two days! That’s never happened for us. The tricky thing was that it was in the same location. As you might’ve guessed, we love shooting at Valley Forge Park. We’ve mentioned before that they have an insane amount of variety of backdrops, so we won’t go into that right now, but we were just surprised at how different it looks based on the light and the fact that snow wasn’t falling at the time during Jackson & Emily’s engagement session. We had that amazing winter sunset light this time! It was gorgeous! We’re becoming huge fans of snow engagement sessions. Anyone else love snow sessions?
Jackson & Emily went to high school with Josiah. They were in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) that Josiah co-lead when he was a senior, and eventually the leadership was passed on to Jackson & Emily. They weren’t dating at the time though, and didn’t start until after high school. Jackson & Emily were two of the nicest, most compassionate and caring people I knew during high school, and things haven’t changed. If anything, they’ve become even better people, especially now that they’re together! We started attending the same church as them this past year, too. We loved laughing with them during this session and hearing about their wedding plans. Thankfully, their wedding day will be much warmer than their engagement session!
Their Engagement Story: As Told By Emily
We were just blocks from the beach in Spring Lake. I thought we were going with Jackson’s friend, but his friend “got sick,” so I really wasn’t expecting anything. Jackson really wanted to surprise me and he definitely succeede! When we arrived to spring lake, we rode an electric tandem bike for a while. We rode the bike to a cute little bridge. On the bridge, he read me a letter/poem he wrote. The last line of the poem was “”Will you marry me?” It was just a super happy day and very natural and sweet. We spent a little more time on the beach together after he proposed. He was so excited to tell me all about the planning process. Then we went back home and celebrated with our families! It was a super fun day!
To Jackson & Emily:
We loved spending every second with you guys! Thanks for braving the cold weather with us and trusting us with your photos! We had so much fun with you both and we can’t wait to do it all over again on the wedding day, but until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorites from your engagement session!
