A Winter Engagement at The Barn On Bridge

These two!! We had so much fun with both of them during their engagement session at The Barn On Bridge on the first day of winter! The clouds were almost non existent except for one or two and thankfully there was no cold winter breeze. It was a gorgeous day. Richie & Kati showed up with their A-Game! Kati wore a gorgeous blue floor length dress that really popped against the trees and backgrounds. We love long, flowy dresses. There’s a reason all the celebrities wear floor length gowns on the red carpet. They are so incredibly flattering on camera! Steph actually just rented two dresses from Rent The Runway, so if you don’t have a long dress and don’t want to break the bank, Rent the Runway is a great option for engagement sessions or other formal events.

Richie & Kati kept us laughing the entire day. We are so thankful for our couples. The relationships we’re building with them just feel so easy and natural and this was no exception. Honestly, I wish we had a longer time to shoot so we could get to know these two a little more! They’re both so playful, joyful and kind. They also killed it in front of camera! From the moment I put them in the first pose, I knew this would be a super easy going session. They got the hang of it almost instantly! Can’t wait for their wedding at The Barn on Bridge next September!

Their Engagement Story: As Told By Kati

June 27, 2017 is a day I’ll never forget! Richie and I were lucky enough to be vacationing in Italy. I had one wish for our entire trip; to tour Venice the old fashioned way, by gondola, and he was determined to make that happen. The funny thing about that day is I spent hours trying to pick pocket him trying to get his euros that were jingling every time he walked. Little did I know he had more than euros for me. We spent the day exploring the city, ending with a perfect nighttime gondola ride. As we started our ride, Richie began to get a little restless until we got to a perfect spot where we just stopped to look around.

He grabbed my hand and asked me if I will love him forever. My answer, “of course, you already know that.” Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee (yes, still in the gondola). Once my heart stopped beating out of my chest and I realized that this wasn’t a dream, everything felt how it always does with him. Perfect. Being with Richie and being in that moment, I finally understood the true meaning of saying “….and the rest is history.”
