Our Pocono Weekend Adventure

We arrived at a small home in the middle of the woods with Dave & Rachel. Our bellies full from the stuffed crust pizza and wings we just devoured. The fresh smell of trees and clean air surrounded us as we entered the cabin. Dave & Rachel’s dog, Moose, a 60 pound German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix greeted us at the door. He was so excited we were back and shook his whole butt thinking he was only wagging his tail. The four of us sat on the back porch and finished the night with a game of Mad Gab & Farkle! If you haven’t played either, then you’re missing out! It was guys vs. girls and the guys lost every game…

The next morning we decided to try and feed chipmunks. Sounds insane, but apparently Dave says they feed chipmunks all the time when they come up here. We actually were really close to feeding a few. There were two to three that were maybe five feet or less from us, but they never came for the peanuts. We grew impatient and decided to go check out Shohola Falls! This was super cool! Just as we arrived, a man was getting his kayak ready to go down the falls. We raced down to the overlook. A man in a bright green kayak raced down the bouncing rapids and down the waterfall with a second kayak-er following him! Makes us want to do some more extreme sports (or any extreme sports for that matter)! We spent the rest of the day swimming and jumping off the dock at Lake Wallenpaupack, barbecuing with some local church members, and playing mini-golf!

We woke up the last day, pretty tired from the eventful day before. We attended church at Wallenpaupack FM church in Hawley, PA and joined them at their church picnic afterwards before heading over to Wangum Falls! The water level was a little lower than normal so we had the opportunity to explore a little more, take some cool photos and enjoy the area before heading back home!
