A Christmastime Engagement at Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill, PA

Doug & Ashley

We had some of the most fun we’ve ever had an engagement session with these two! They showed up with their A game and were ready for anything, plus they couldn’t stop us from laughing. It was like two straight hours of laughter with them and thank God because it was freezing and that laughter definitely warmed us up! We had met Ashley earlier this year to chat about her wedding, but hadn’t met Doug and so we were a bit nervous to meet him leading up to the engagement session. Normally, guys are so thrilled having their photos taken. But Doug showed up and was the most excited we’ve ever seen a groom about getting their engagement photos done! He was so excited and he also knew how important these were to Ashley and he made it so much fun! We feel so blessed to know these two because they are such huge encouragers of us and our business. They’re both so genuine, authentic and in deeply in love. Doug wouldn’t stop smiling at her and laughing with her. There was a moment where they gave each other a high five and it was the cutest thing because they’re not just in love. They are each other’s best friends! It was adorable!

The Story

Through some encouragement from Ashley’s friends, she joined Match. Hesitant at first, she decided to give it a try because she had heard of so many wonderful stories. When Doug and Ashley met for their first date, he was a true gentleman. He was so warm hearted and he made Ashley laugh the entire date and they have been laughing ever since!

On July 3, Doug took Ashley to lunch at their favorite Tai restaurant on Main Street in Bethlehem. He asked her if she wanted to walk along the historic canal path because they hadn’t been there in a while. They held hands and talked all the way to the bridge that overlooks the water. Doug & Ashley often say to each other, “You are a good one.” At that moment, Ashley said it, and Doug replied,” you know Ashley, I think YOU are a good one and I think you and I should spend the rest of our lives together.” She stared back at him with a smile on her face. “Will you marry me?” Ashely threw her hands to her mouth in shock and of course said yes! They were greeted by sounds of his family celebrating as they had been taking pictures all around them. It was a loving celebration followed by ice cream and calls to many family and friends!

Doug & Ashley, we had the greatest time with you and cannot wait for your wedding this June!! You guys are both so sweet and caring and in love and it makes us so happy! We can’t wait to see you two again, but until then hope you love some of our favorites from your session!
