A November Engagement at The Philander Chase Knox Estate in Valley Forge Park in Wayne, PA

We’re in Valley Forge for engagement sessions quite often. I know you’re probably sick of seeing us shoot in the same location, but we’re convinced that this is the best place in the entire Philadelphia area for engagements. There are so many incredible backdrops including the beautiful area around The Philander Chase Knox Estate. Rob, Kendra and I were supposed to shoot at Longwood Gardens, but we switched it up last minute. I think Valley Forge was the best spot for them! We met Rob & Kendra at Cory & Nichole’s wedding in September where Kendra was the maid of honor.

Rob & Kendra are so much fun! We chatted all about them and their wedding. We learned they love nerding out and watching movies. Kendra might’ve shown up wearing a Dr. Who jacket. Not sure if this is a secret or not, so I won’t give it all away, but they’re incorporating movies into their wedding in some awesome ways! Our own wedding had some movie themed props scattered about, too. Needless to say, they’re a pretty great fit for us. I also might’ve asked Rob to whisper a random vegetable in Kendra’s ear in his best C-3PO impression. To my surprise, it was actually pretty good! Anyway, we had such a fun time with them! They’re so funny and so in love with each other. It was all smiles! Kendra didn’t stop laughing the entire time.

Their Proposal Story: As Told By Kendra

Rob and I got engaged on January 29, 2017. We went out to brunch with Rob and his family earlier in the day. I was apparently the only one not aware what was going to happen later that day. Rob was so nervous that he wouldn’t take off his coat at brunch because it had the ring in the pocket. We ended up driving after brunch down to Wagonhouse Winery in New Jersey. We had a Groupon that we bought from Rob’s brother, Mark, and his girlfriend, Sara, for Christmas.

The winery was so cute and we had a really nice tasting. It was on a farm and there was a really cute gazebo in the back. After we finished the tasting, Rob asked if I wanted to go for a walk around the building. We ended up at the gazebo where Rob got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I think he said some other things, too, but I was so excited and overwhelmed that I don’t think I heard him! I was crying and jumping with joy! Of course I said yes, and he put the most beautiful ring on my finer! And since Mark and Sara were with us, they took pictures the entire time! It was perfect!
