A Destination Wedding in Jamaica at The Royalton Negril
We have returned from a few days under the hot sun in Negril, Jamaica. For once, Josiah didn’t come home burnt. Taking his place was Steph who was as read as a lobster by the end of the trip. All that time spent by the pool was still worth it though.
Destination weddings are so much fun. Obviously because you’re in a gorgeous location, and often at an all inclusive in Mexico or Jamaica where you can eat and drink as much as you’d like! But not just because of that, but also due to the fact that the weddings are so low-key. They normally have less than 50 people, very intimate ceremonies, and the schedules are very go with the flow. As photographers, this is the most incredible thing ever! It’s so relaxing and fun to shoot since there is hardly any stress on the wedding day. We also get to meet and spend a lot of the time with the family and guests prior to the wedding day which is such a bonus!
Phil & Michele’s wedding at the Royalton Negril in Negril, Jamaica was so so pretty! Their wedding was photographed on a Monday, however, it was scheduled to happen the day before, on Sunday. Unfortunately, that was the only day of the trip that it torrentially downpoured the entire day. Thankfully, the resort was very flexible and allowed them to push the wedding back by a day. Monday was the most perfect day. The sun was out and the weather, albeit, still very hot, was exactly what we had all hoped for. We walked all over the resort snapping photos near the water, beaches and buildings with very occasional shade breaks. Their colors popped so much, especially Michele in her brightly colored heels! They were fire!
To Phil & Michele:
Thank you guys so much for inviting us to Jamaica to photograph your big day! We absolutely loved every minute of the trip and are so grateful you thought of us! Wish we could do it all over again! Hopefully these images will hold you over until your next tropical vacation!
