Central Park Engagement | Manhattan, NY | Noah & Caitlin

Noah & Cailtin's Central Park Engagement in New York City

A Central Park Engagement

Let me start off by saying, this is weird. We just photographed Noah & Caitlin’s Central Park engagement session and it was the first time we’ve seen these two together as a couple. It’s weird because I (Josiah) attended college with Noah & Caitlin. Noah was my roommate in sophomore year and 1 of 3 other roommates my senior year. Noah & Caitlin didn’t date at all for the four years we attended school. Towards the end of our senior year, there was some romantic tension between them, but while I lived with Noah, nothing ever happened.

BUT, just days after graduation and me packing up and leaving for home, these two decided it was time to go for it. I realized that since graduation, I haven’t been with either of them together while they’ve been dating. Hopefully we can change that more moving forward since they’re now only a few hours from Philly. I couldn’t be happier for the two of them. They’ve hit some road blocks and speed bumps along the way (long distance sucks), but they’re now both in Maryland and will be getting married next year.

Their Engagement Story

Noah called me up a few weeks before he planned to propose on Cinco de Mayo. He planned to get Caitlin back to Virginia Beach (where we all attended college) to go to a taco festival with a few of our close college friends. It was the one weekend out of the year that Steph and I would be out of the country. Noah’s plan was to propose in the gardens by the pond behind The Founder’s Inn in Virginia Beach. After arriving, he found that their was a wedding ceremony that day in that exact location and he scrambled to find a new spot to propose. A photographer was going to capture the entire moment, so while Noah distracted Caitlin, our friends & photographer found him a new spot, placed a flag near the location and went off to hide. Not long after, Noah and Caitlin arrived and Noah asked Caitlin to marry him. Needless to say, things don’t always go as planned, but in the long run, it doesn’t matter. Caitlin said yes and they’ll officially tie the knot in fall 2019.

To Noah & Caitlin:

We love you both. Thanks for letting us tag along with ya’ll on your NYC getaway. We loved spending the day with you both, eating good food and seeing a show (despite the annoying guy seated next to you) and we can’t wait to get down to Maryland to visit with ya’ll. You guys did an awesome job during the shoot. We’re excited to show you the rest, but until then, here’s some of our favorites from your engagement session.
