A Navy & Maroon November Wedding at Huntingdon Valley Country Club
Alex & Jen’s November wedding at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Southampton, PA a few weeks back was one of the coldest weddings we’ve ever photographed. There was no snow on the ground either! We blame the wind causing a windchill that made it feel about 25 degrees. Jen (and her bridesmaids) were champs and came outside to shoot in the cold with us. We think it was completely worth it after seeing these images and we hope they think so, too! Alex & Jen went with a classic Navy & Maroon color combo. It’s a common color palette for winter weddings, but I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it. It always looks so good!
An oddity was the fact that we got to shoot all of their portraits at sunset! Everything was timed perfectly for their wedding. Typically, we’ll only get 5-10 minutes for sunset portraits since in the summer, sunset is happening during the reception. But because of November and daylight savings time ending, we shot at the most perfect time of day. We’re very thankful the golden orange leaves remained on the trees for us, too. We were freaking out behind camera as we photographed Alex & Jen freeze to death. They probably thought we were crazy, but after we showed them a few images later that night, they had the same reaction.
To Alex & Jen:
Ya’ll are both so sweet! We loved freezing our butts off with you guys! Thanks for being completely up for anything and taking the time to get these gorgeous images! We loved celebrating with you both and can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you, but until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorites from your big day!
