Kevin + Sydni
We had the chance to catch up with Kevin and Sydni last week for their fall engagement at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ! These two were full of smiles and were such a joy to photograph! They crushed it on camera and were so fun to spend the evening with. We’re sure their wedding next year is going to be so crazy fun!
Q: Tell us your full proposal story. When did it happen? How were you feeling? Did you expect it?
A: On our 5 year anniversary, me and Kevin went to the restaurant in NYC where I first told him I love him. As we sat in the tight space, the engagement ring was hiding in his jacket pocket next to me without my knowledge (I offered to hold his coat in the small booth seat with me). After that, we visited the tree at Rockefeller Center for the first time since COVID hit, as we used to go every year during Christmastime, and he surprised me by proposing! He had our friend meet us there and I thought she was the surprise; little did I know she was just there to take the photos! I had absolutely no idea a proposal was even close to happening. He made me believe I’d be waiting forever! The ring didn’t fit because I told him the wrong size haha, but I used a different ring to hold it in place until I could get it resized. I wouldn’t change a thing about our proposal story!
Q: What’s been your favorite part about being engaged?
A: Having an excuse to get my nails done so I can show off this beautiful ring! And planning our wonderful celebration together!
Q: What advice do you have for future couples planning their wedding?
A: Don’t stress so much! Ultimately, the day is about you and your partner celebrating your love for each other. I’ve been trying not to sweat the small stuff and I feel like it’s allowed me to really enjoy everything during this process.
