Sunset In Manhattan Engagement Session

Grant & Kerra

Some love stories feel straight out of a movie. Grant and Kerra’s is one of them. They met at a bar in Philly, had their first date at a coffee shop, and never looked back. When Grant’s job took them to New York City, he wasted no time making it official. One week after moving, he proposed during a sunrise coffee walk on the South Street Bridge. Kerra had no idea it was coming, which made it even sweeter. Their sunset engagement in Manhattan was perfect!

Sunset Engagement in Manhattan

We met up with them in October to photograph and explore Manhattan’s charm. Starting in Washington Square Park, we got eased into the session on the lawn and broke down some of that nervous energy. From there, we wandered a block to the Washington Mews for some photos on the cobblestone street. Then we trekked down to the river, stopping at quaint streets lined with iconic brownstones. The crisp autumn air and golden light made everything even more romantic.

As we walked, they laughed, held hands, and soaked in their new city. They were playful, full of joy, and up for anything. It was effortless. We ended the session on a pier at sunset, overlooking the river as the sky turned deep shades of pink and orange. I shot this session on both digital and Portra 400 film, capturing the timelessness of their love in both analog and digital formats.

Their Upcoming Wedding

We cannot wait for their wedding later this year! They’re planning an intimate backyard ceremony with Grant’s dad officiating, followed by a lively reception at Manayunk Brewing Company. We’re excited to work alongside the amazing Kristina Wittig to bring their vision to life.

Grant and Kerra, your love is pure, fun, and full of light. Your sunset engagement in Manhattan was a dream to photograph and we can’t wait to celebrate with you again soon!
