Chenzy & Chelsea
He is from New York and she’s from Florida, but God brought these two together yeas ago at an almost exact halfway point in Virginia Beach, VA. They were married on August 6th, 2016 at a private residence in the woods of Connecticut. Chelsea had a small budget and decided on a rustic DIY wedding. Her dress was handmade by one of her friends, they made their own bouquets, wedding decorations and had a close friend do hair & makeup (Wynter from Monarch Hair Co. is incredible, by the way!). It was truly a simplistic DIY wedding that turned out to be stunning! It is possible to have a gorgeous wedding for under $5,000! The most beautiful part of this wedding was the outdoor ceremony where it began to downpour! By the end, everyone was soaking wet, but everyone agrees that the ceremony was stunning and that the rain only made it better! It was one of the cutest ceremonies we’ve ever photographed and will be one we’ll remember forever!
Josiah attended Regent University with Chenzy & Chelsea in the film program. Chenzy met Chelsea through his best man & friend, Dan and the best friend duo soon became a trio! Chenz & Chels would talk for hours on end and it was on a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando that Chelsea realized that she really liked him before they even started officially dating. It wasn’t long after that Chenzy confessed his feelings for her while they were in Long Island, NY. They became inseparable, but after Chelsea graduated and moved back to Florida, they decided it may be better if they ended things and focused on what was ahead of them. Months went by and they had a falling out. We’ll spare you the details, but they didn’t speak for months. Even in the midst of this, Chelsea couldn’t help but feel that she was supposed to be with Chenzy, but she decided to move on. Chenzy called her in August of 2015 and knowing they wanted to be together, they began the process of healing, spiritual growth, maturing and forgiveness. They were starting their relationship again on a different foundation and with different intentions. On New Years Eve 2014, they officially began dating again!
A year went by where they endured a long distance relationship. In December, Chelsea was battling health issues and was in the hospital. Chenzy was there for her the entire time and on December 29th, 2015, they took a trip to Universal Studios. It was there in front of the globe that two years prior Chelsea realized that she loved him and it was in that same spot that Chenzy got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! She said yes, of course! The rest is history! Chenzy & Chelsea are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They care for others, are goofy and will be quick to make you laugh. Their smiles are contagious and their love for one another is radiant!
Chenzy & Chelsea, we love you both! I (Josiah) am so thankful for the many memories I have with each of you from college and am so thrilled for your future together! You both are perfect for each other and we could not be more happy for you! Thank you for inviting us into your small, intimate wedding day. We had the best time celebrating with you!
