Valley Forge National Park
Tuesday’s Things
We love Valley Forge! It is one of our favorite places to go year round. We’re not entirely sure when our love of Valley Forge began but it has been a constant throughout our relationship. We remember sitting on a blanket in the shade in early May after Josiah returned home from school in Virginia. We sat there for hours & talked about anything & everything. Though we still loved each other from afar, we were separated for so long that it was like falling in love all over again. Days like this mean so much to us.
Sometimes we just sit there silently. Her head on my chest & we stare up at the sky. Maybe we’ll get a Wawa hoagie (those from PA/NJ/DE/MD know what’s up!) & share a half-gallon iced tea even though that is far too much tea for two people in that short of a time. The park is beautiful & gorgeous when the weather is nice. Autumn comes & the green deserts the leaves resulting in an array of oranges & apple reds. Chilled air blows through the fields. It’s been a constant in our relationship & is symbolic of our love. Though seasons change, leaves come and go, it still remains. It is beautiful & organic. Valley Forge has simplicities and complexities & history. It represents safety & comfort. We shoot many of our photography sessions in Valley Forge because of our comfort and because we know what it means to us. He proposed at Valley Forge & She said yes. We took the leap and without Valley Forge a part of the day would have been missing. Valley Forge will always be a place to escape with a field that welcomes us.
