A Chic Engagement In Valley Forge National Park

We had a blast with Sarah & Jesse at their chic Valley Forge National Park engagement session! We shoot here a lot, but this place is just the perfect backdrop for an engagement session. It has so much variety! Since Jesse & Sarah are having a rustic, barn/farm wedding at The Farm at Eagle’s Ridge in Lancaster, PA in a couple months, this countryside engagement was right up their alley! These two are so sweet, fun and giggly, and not to mention, they could actually be models! They are super photogenic and practically posed themselves. We loved getting to know them and hear about their big wedding plans! It’s going to be beautiful!

When Jesse and I got engaged, we had been dating for 6 years. We discussed the possibility of getting married someday for pretty much our entire relationship. When I graduated from college, we both knew that the timing was right to take the next step. Jesse asked my parents for permission to propose, but told them he didn’t know when he would ask. He said it might be anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months from that point. He actually purchased the ring the very next day. One thing that Jesse and I have in common is that we’re both terrible at keeping surprises or any kind of exciting news from each other. We get too eager and almost always end up telling the other before we can make it a surprise. The proposal was no exception! As soon as Jesse had the ring in his possession, he couldn’t wait to propose and ended up scratching any extravagant plans that he made. He asked me to marry him in the middle of the living room, and it was a very sweet and intimate moment that I will always cherish!
