This session was rescheduled twice before, but as they say: Third times a charm. We had the most beautiful day with perfect, golden light for Danny and Sara’s engagement session in Valley Forge and Philander Chase Knox Estate. The light wasn’t the only thing golden though. They brought their golden retriever puppy, Harper, with them for their session. Second cutest dog on the planet. Second because our dog, Chance, is the cutest, but goodness, Harper really puts up a fight. Danny & Sara were all smiles and laughs for the full 90 minutes. You could feel their love for one another in the air through their goofiness and comfortability with each other. Not to mention, two wet-willy’s that were given during the session resulting in only laughter. So glad we finally were able to shoot with them on a sunny day!
Their Story: Told By Sara
At the end of the February we planned a trip to go to Hawaii and of course, he thought it was a prime opportunity to propose. Fast forward to our trip and on our first full day in Hawaii, we decided to go to the North Shore where, unfortunately, it rained the ENTIRE day. It was cold and wet – I was ready to go back to the hotel. Danny convinced me to go beach hopping and try to catch the sunset on Sunset Beach on the North Shore. Right around 7:00pm, we went to Sunset Beach where it happened to clear up for about 15 minutes – we got out of the car and took a selfie on the beach (which I later found out was to signal the photographer he had set up). Danny got down on one knee and proposed – I was genuinely so surprised. Since it was raining a few minutes earlier we had the beach to ourselves along with a few surfers. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Right afterwards, we had an hour-long photo shoot (that he set up) where it continued to pour buckets – we had a blast! It truly could not have been more perfect!
To Danny + Sara:
Thanks for laughing with me for 90 minutes. Ya’ll (and Harper) were so much fun to photograph and we can’t wait to do it all again at your wedding later this year! Until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorites from your engagement session.
