Engagement at Race Street Pier

Tim + Michaela

We met up wit Tim and Michaela for their engagement at Race Street Pier last week down in Philadelphia. It was cloudy, and honestly could’ve started raining at any moment. The thing is that this made for a very empty pier which was awesome. Sometimes it’s absolutely packed and difficult to shoot when there are so many people around. Tim and Michaela brought such great energy, solid outfits, and a fun time. We shot here at the pier for half the session and then walked up to Elfreth’s alley to finish the shoot. Tim and Michaela are so sweet, and we can’t wait to do it all again on the wedding day in just a few weeks come August!

Q: How did the proposal go down?

A: Tim proposed on the beach in Ocean City, NJ which is also where we are getting married! We had dated for 8 years so I knew it was coming soon, but the day-of was a surprise! It was just the two of us on the beach and then we came back to the house and all our family and friends were there!

Q: What’s the best part about being engaged?

A: The best part is all the love and well-wishes we have received from our family and friends. Everyone is so excited for us and that makes us feel so special.

Q: What’s a piece of advice you’d share with other’s planning their own wedding?

A: Delegate tasks to others! Don’t try to do everything yourselves. Family and friends are so willing to help. Another thing is to ask friends what vendors they used- you already know what their work looks like so you won’t be surprised.
