Engagement at Highland Mansion in Fort Washington, PA

Get ready for another beautiful engagement session from our associate shooters, Ryan & Courtney. This time they met up with Jeffrey & Karen at for their engagement at Highland Mansion in Fort Washington, PA. This place looks like it’s out of a storybook with beautiful backdrops, castle walls, willow trees, a large mansion, ivy covered walls, and what looks like a hedge maze of sorts. What a cool place for a session! Courtney mentioned that she had an incredibly fun time photographing these two. We can tell they had fun as well just by seeing their smiles and laughter throughout the editing process.

Q: How did the proposal happen?

A: Jeff proposed on my 32nd birthday. The plan was to head to Fishtown for dinner at Suraya and have a beer at Evil Genius Brewery before hand. Evil Genius was where we had our first hang outside of work. After we got to Evil Genius Jeff had the manager play “When I get my hands on you” and got down and proposed. He had a photographer friend capture the moment and then we took a tour of Fishtown for engagement day photos. When we got back to the brewery it was full of family and friends to celebrate our engagement (and my birthday). After the celebration Jeff took me to the Four Seasons, where there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting in the room, we ate late night pizza and had breakfast the next morning before we went to Lewes Delaware for a beach weekend.

Q: What’s the best part about being engaged?

A: Being able to tell that story.

Q: Any advice for other couples planning their own wedding?

A: First book Josiah and Steph early! Our mantra has been staying stress free. When we get an idea that we love, we start to plan around that idea and if it becomes too stressful or too hard we ditch it and find something that is just as good with less stress.
