American-Indian Wedding at Tribeca Rooftop + Houston Hall in Manhattan, NY

This was one of the most epic weddings we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Andrew and Annika had one hell of a beautiful American-Indian wedding at Tribeca Rooftop + Houston Hall in Manhattan, NY. It was likely the nicest weekend you could ask for, and in mid August we were very lucky!

This was our first time photographing a wedding like this and now that we’ve had a taste, we’re not sure any other wedding will live up to the hype. Maybe it was just how much fun Andrew and Annika’s families were, but they knew how to party. The Barat itself was so incredible. to photograph. And if you’re not sure what a Barat is, it’s pretty much when the entire wedding dances and celebrates down the street on their way to the venue, and it is a party. Andrew may not have come in on a horse, but instead on the shoulders of two friends. Needless to say, this was very different than what we’re photographing on a regular basis and it was a really great change of pace!

As I mentioned already, Andrew and Annika’s families knew how to party. What I didn’t mention was just how wonderfully kind, and welcoming they were. We spent the evening with their families at the welcome party at Houston Hall and met a lot of their guests, friends, and family. Because of that, when we showed up to start photographing the following morning, we felt really comfortable in the space because of the time we’d spent with the family the night before. It was so great and we wish this happened more often!

Andrew and Annika were so relaxed all day, and they both looked like a million bucks. Seriously cannot get over how much style these two exuded constantly. They were full of smiles, high-fived each other a few times, and practiced their first dance in private while others weren’t watching. They are both two incredibly sweet people and we feel so lucky to have had the chance to document their wedding weekend. So much so that we wish we could do it all over again every Saturday and Sunday.

I can’t get over these photos and wish we could go another round of shooting with you again!
