Got a unique one for you today! This Friday The 13th Wedding at The Stone Barn is the perfect mix of spooky and stunning. There’s nothing I could say that could sum up how special this wedding was to photograph. Alec has been a great friend for well over a decade, and he’s been a different friend to both of us as he attended high school with Steph, and he and Josiah have spent loads of time talking about movies over drinks, and occasionally making a short film once or twice. He’s been a large part of our life for so many years, and we’re so thankful we get to be a part of his.

When Amanda came into the picture everything just felt right…at least on our end. Since it was during the pandemic, we didn’t actually meet her for a little while. But now it’s hard to remember a time before she was ever around. She’s the perfect match for Alec and we are incredibly grateful for her, her kindness, and how much happiness she brings our friend. Both of them are like family to us and getting the chance to photograph their wedding was a highlight of our year.

There are too many incredible moments from their wedding. We loved documenting all the special interactions, all the hugs that were shared, especially between Amanda’s mom. She was hugging everyone and so happy for her daughter, and now, new son. Their first look was really sweet. Seeing Alec light up when seeing Amanda for the first time brought equally big smiles to our faces. Seeing as it was Friday the 13th, they leaned into the theme and set up some low-key spooky decor that was still fitting with the overall stunning aesthetic. Alec is a huge horror fan, so he and his groomsmen broke out the masks during their portraits. And lastly, it was the first time we photographed a wedding where the bride and groom cut the cake with a machete. Yup…scroll to see the pics. It was fantastic.

Best dance floor we’ve photographed all year! These guys knew how to party and I’m surprised the dance floor didn’t cave in from all the jumping, stomping, and moshing that took place. It was a wild party and made for an insanely fun atmosphere to photograph.
