A Stylish Blustery Engagement Session at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA

Matthew & Megan

It was the coldest day we’ve had all of November. Monday the 21st of November met us with blistering cold winds that felt like 20 degrees. Matthew & Megan faced them head on and looked gorgeous in her blue dress and Matthew, dapper, in his pink and grey combo! So much style! Regardless of the freezing cold weather with some nasty wind on top of it our laughter kept us warm. We had met Megan at Russell & Nancy’s wedding over two years ago! Crazy how much time flies! She was maid of honor and we are now honored to get the opportunity to photograph her wedding next November at the William Penn Inn! Hopefully it won’t be as cold as it was this past week!

The Story

Matthew and Megan met through mutual friends during their freshman year at Moravian College, but became close when they were seated next to each other in choir rehearsal two years later. Their friendship grew and by the end of their senior year, Matt and Megan were spending quite a bit of time together. They started dating shortly before graduation. Living with their own families after graduating meant Matt and Megan lived nearly two hours from each other. Matt would make the drive to visit Megan on a weekly basis, until practically two years later when she would move to within an hour of Matt’s family home. By the end of 2015, Matt had saved enough money for a stunning ring and was trying to find a significant time and place to pop the question. It all clicked when Megan’s brother contacted Matt regarding a plan to purchase tickets to an opera at the Metropolitan Opera for Megan’s Christmas gift. With the help of Megan’s family, Matt planned a day in New York City, including a lovely dinner and tickets to Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro.” Most people would see a massive hint in the particular title selected, but it happens to be Megan’s favorite opera, and she thought nothing of the significance. After dinner, they walked to the performance hall early to admire the fountain in the courtyard of the Lincoln Center Plaza. In front of the fountain, Matthew got down on a knee and asked Megan to spend the rest of her life with him. Clearly, she accepted 🙂

Matthew & Megan, we had such a wonderful time with you both and cannot wait for your wedding next year! Until then we hope you enjoy some of our favorite images from your engagement session!
