Our 5 Favorite Venues of 2016

That Are New To Us

Last year we decided to share our top 5 favorite venues from 2015. We shot 11 weddings in 2015 so we chose practically half of them to be our favorites. Wasn’t super difficult to choose, but in 2016 we photographed 22 weddings! It was a bit harder this time, but without further ado, here’s our top five favorite venues of 2016 that are new to us!

5. Talamore Country Club

The first place on our list is Talamore country club and I must preface that we’re not huge ballroom photographers. We really thrive in the rustic, country, and rural style weddings, but Talamore was so much fun to shoot at! The venue itself is huge and gorgeous and even has a beautiful bridge for photos. The reception has a large staircase for you to enter in through which is a cool and unique touch. We love the way that Rocky & Amanda’s images turned out! It was certainly a cool place with very helpful and friendly staff!

4. Northampton Valley Country Club

Like I said, we’re not huge ballroom photographers, but the first two places on our list are exceptions. We loved Northampton Valley Country Club! The grounds are well maintained and beautiful and the ballroom was spacious and really gorgeous. We’re excited that we get to shoot a couple more weddings here again in 2017 and can’t wait to take advantage of the space to get some really stunning shots! Here are some images from Ryan & Robyn’s wedding!

3. John James Audubon Center

Tim & Jules booked their wedding at the John James Audubon Center in Audubon, PA and we were able to shoot with them there twice! Once for their snowy engagement session and the second time on their wedding day which happened to be the hottest wedding day of all time (Ya’ll, my knees were sweating)! Anyway, regardless of the extreme weather on both ends, we thought this place was gorgeous and so unique! The staff was kind and the food was great. They had a live band and even got to meet the Happy Owl (Like Happy Hour, but it’s an Owl). Regardless of the weather, this place is a beauty and has so many distinct backdrops for your photos and room for your guests to enjoy themselves!

2. Walker’s Overlook

We photographed Paul & Lauren’s wedding at Walker’s Overlook in Maryland last June and boy do we wish we lived a bit closer to this place! It’s a huge estate with gorgeous rooms, a crazy awesome getting ready area in the basement for the dudes (There’s arcade games… just sayin’), and a beautiful tented reception area that overlooks multiple fields that are perfect for photos! It was a dream! We loved shooting there and really can’t wait to do it again someday!

1. The Barn on Bridge

Well… if you read our blog post from last week then it’s no surprise that this venue is a favorite from last year! We photographed a total of three weddings there in 2016 and have another few lined up there for 2017! We’re so excited every time we get to shoot here because we have a personal connection to it and know it well. We feel very comfortable there and love the staff and coordinators! They’re all so amazing, plus the vendor meals are incredible! If you’re looking for a rustic feel, but don’t want it to be too rustic then The Barn on Bridge might be perfect for you! Here are three weddings from The Barn on Bridge – James & Kim // Dan & Ashley // Mike & Rachel

BONUS – Sapphire Resorts in Cancun, Mexico

It’s hard to talk about your favorite venues you’ve shot at when you photographed your first wedding in Mexico! Sapphire Resorts in Cancun was a dream! Married on the sand by the ocean with portraits throughout the resort, Chris & Carrie’s wedding was perfect! If you’re thinking about eloping in Mexico, please bring us 🙂
