A Whimsical Engagement at Valley Forge National Park

A Whimsical Engagement at Valley Forge National Park

Alex & Ramah

This was such an awesome engagement session! These two were so much fun to hang with for a few hours on Saturday and thank God, the rain literally stopped right as we started shooting! We had the best luck! Valley Forge National Park is one of our favorite locations because it has a bit of everything. There’s a Barn with an old chicken coupe, a creek that’s two minutes away and if you walk another 5 minutes you’ll end up at The Philander Chase Knox Estate that is right next to an old, worn down greenhouse. That’s just in one section of the park. There’s also a train station, wooded areas, fields, overlooks, a historic church, log cabins and a memorial arch!

It’s seriously the best place because we could shoot there 4 or 5 different times in a single week and make each session look completely different! Check out more sessions at Valley Forge here! Alex & Ramah were such a joy to shoot! They are so adventurous and up for anything and we cannot wait for their wedding at The Barn on Bridge in Collegeville, PA this August! That’s where we were married! So exciting!

Their Engagement Story

Ramah had a job interview in Vanvouver, WA so her and Alex decided to make a vacation out of it.  After the interview, they drove from Vancouver, WA to Snoqualmie, WA to the Salish Lodge to stay there for the next couple days. Alex drove her up there because Snoqualmie is where one of Ramah’s favorite TV shows, “Twin Peaks” was filmed! They had a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls. It started storming, but it was just so peaceful that they decided to stay on the balcony.

Just then, Alex proposed to Ramah on that balcony in the rain overlooking the waterfall! How romantic is that!? After Ramah said yes there was a huge crash of thunder and a flash of lightning and bam! The hotel lost power! Ramah joked about how it was a sign! They spent the rest of their trip driving around looking at the different areas they filmed Twin Peaks. Ramah says it was the greatest vacation ever!

Here’s a photo from their balcony!

Fun fact: Josiah’s brother, Jake, joined us on this shoot! He has never photographed an engagement session before, but he had a blast shooting and he came away with some really awesome shots that are actually sprinkled in throughout this session! We were super impressed with his talent!
