Jared & Elizabeth’s Mountainside Elopement in Keystone, Colorado

A Mountainside Elopement in Keystone, Colorado

Can’t believe that over a week has passed since our adventure to Colorado. It was an exciting trip that introduced us to new people who we now consider family. Jared (Josiah’s brother) was getting married in the mountains of Keystone, Colorado. It was a wedding unlike any we’ve ever experienced. Jared and Elizabeth decided to keep things intimate and simple. 20 of us loaded up the cars in Colorado Springs and ventured to an AirBnB in Keystone, complete with a fire pit and TeePee in the backyard. It was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. It was here that they decided to have the ceremony in front of the fire pit in the backyard. A dozen or so more people arrived on the wedding day and we all watched as they proclaimed their vows for one another. It was the sweetest day and one we’ll cherish forever.

It goes without saying that we LOVE these two. Jared and Josiah have been together all of their lives and it was such a joy to watch him marry the love of his life. We’ve hoped and dreamed this for him for so long. He and Elizabeth are two of the most compassionate, loving and Holy Spirit driven people we’ve ever met. They are so much fun to hang with and we can’t wait to spend countless hours with one another as we grow older. Elizabeth is the perfect match for Jared and we are so glad to have her as a sister.

Their Proposal Story: As Told by Jared

I came to visit Elizabeth in Colorado in January. We decided to road trip down to Sante Fe, New Mexico where we stayed at a hippy commune/Airbnb for a night. After spending the day exploring the city we decided to head back to our small trailer (Airbnb). Later that evening we went for a night walk down a long dirt road. It was too dark to see two feet in front of us, but it was perfect for the desert stars. This was a beautiful setting because I didn’t have any set plan for how I was going to ask her to marry me. I started to tell her stories from when I was younger, how I always used to pray for my future wife in the backyard at night. This night was just another reminder of the nights I spent under the stars praying for her. After telling this story, I asked Elizabeth to kneel in the dirt with me to pray. I prayed for her the way that I would when I was younger, praising God that He had given me the one that I had always longed for. After I finished praying I told her I loved her and asked her to marry me. It was also my 22nd birthday and it was the greatest gift I’ve ever been given.

To Jared & Elizabeth:

We love you dearly. Thank you for loving us and for allowing us to document your wedding day. It was truly one of the most special moments of our lives and we wish we could celebrate with you all over again in those mountains. Maybe we can again someday. We hope you enjoy some of our favorite photos from your wedding day and this social highlight film, as well!
