A Micro Wedding at Jasper’s Backyard

If 2020 has given us anything, it’s a lot of micro weddings. Today we’re sharing some of our favorites from Jared + Angellena’s micro wedding at Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken, PA. We’ll definitely be coming back to this bar once this pandemic has passed. We are actually in love with this new trend of micro weddings that we think is actually here to stay. Why do we love it you ask? Well, because the day ends up becoming all about the bride and groom, often in a more personal setting with only the people who mean the most to them. There’s also less pressure and stress to put on an awesome party for two hundred guests. It’s more personal and meaningful in a lot of ways.

Jared + Angellena’s day was exactly that; meaningful, with handwritten notes, personal vows and a few beautiful first dance and parent dances at the reception. You can just see it, and I’ll let the photos do the talking, how much they love one another. These two are some of the sweetest people and we loved ending 2020 with their wonderful wedding.

Our Favorite Moment:

My (Josiah) favorite moment from the day was actually photographing Jared dance with his mother during the mother/son dance because they danced to the same song that I danced to with my mom at our wedding. My mom chose “My Wish” by Rascal Flats, which was a song I’d maybe heard once before that time and now it’s a song that completely takes me right back to that moment dancing with my mom at our wedding. I did get a little teary eyed when it came on as I tried my best to capture this moment that meant so much to me for Jared and his mom.

I love how music can take you right back to a feeling you experienced over 5 years ago. Besides that, we found ourselves having such a wonderful time photographing their candids and all the hugs that were given after they were officially married. Every single person at this wedding was so thrilled for Jared and Angellena. It was a beautiful thing to capture.
