Fairmount Waterworks Engagement

Matt + Taylor

We had an awesome time with Matt + Taylor at their engagement session at Fairmount Waterworks behind the Philadelphia Art Museum last week. This was our back up date because we had to cancel on account of wind the first time. Yes, you read that right. Wind cancelled our first attempt because these two likely would’ve ended up in the river if we hadn’t. It was that windy. Thankfully this time we had much better weather despite a few raindrops here and there. Matt + Taylor were extra flexible and just rolled with the punches. They laughed a lot, smiled even more, and I think we came away with some really beautiful photos.

Q: How did Matt propose?

Matt proposed on August 1st, 2020 which was the day after my birthday. I love wineries so I was the one to ask if we could go to a winery with just our families. So, Matt, my parents and his parents took me to Sharrott Winery. Towards the end of our time there I was the one to initiate a photo down by the vineyard (I wanted a picture to post for instagram) not realizing what was about to happen. So after a couple photos, Matt got down on one knee and the rest was history. I was in complete shock and I had no suspicion. After Sharrott Winery, we were supposed to meet up with all of our friends at a different winery, but instead all of my friends surprised us back at my parents house for a party! It was two huge surprises back to back and it was perfect!

Q: What’s the best part about being engaged?

The best part is wedding planning and talking about what our future will look like once we are married.

Q: What advice do you have for others who are planning their wedding?

Give some time for yourself to soak in the engagement. The best advice I can possibly give when planning a wedding is to stick with your gut, but be open to recommendations.

To Matt + Taylor:

Thanks for braving the weather with me. I know it was certainly questionable, but I’m super thrilled with how these turned out! We hope you love them as much as us! We can’t wait to do this all over again next year at your wedding, but until then we hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of your engagement session at Fairmount Waterworks.
