Fairmount Water Works Engagement

Vince + Grace

We met up with Vince and Grace at one of our favorite places in the Philadelphia area for an engagement session. Fairmount Water Works sits right behind the Philadelphia Art Museum and has tons of different options for shooting, including some spots that Vince + Grace had never been to despite living just a few minutes drive from the location. Grace and I (Josiah) attended middle school and high school together and naturally we had a few of the same classes together. Grace was always someone who I remember being incredibly kind. She is certainly one of the nicest people you’ll ever come across in your life and has the ability to make people feel instantly comfortable around her. I’m glad to see that she hasn’t changed much in that regard since leaving high school 10 years ago, and that she’s found Vince who, from the 90 minutes we spent together on Thursday evening, was just as kind, welcoming and enjoyable to be with. I think these two are a perfect match.

Q: How did Vince propose?

We got engaged over my (Grace) birthday weekend in early August! Vince planned a surprise lunch for us to celebrate a few days after my actual birthday. We went out to eat in Center City at a restaurant with great views of the city. After a late lunch, we walked from Center City back to our apartment in Fairmount. Along the way, Vince suggested cutting through one of our favorite parks. As we walked through the park, Vince said that he had one more birthday gift for me and got down on one knee! I didn’t know it at the time, but his brother had been hiding in the bushes taking pictures of our engagement! As the initial shock and excitement began to subside, we walked back to our apartment talking about who to tell first. When we got back to our apartment, both of our families were waiting inside as an extra surprise! Vince couldn’t have planned a better day!

Q: What’s the best part about being engaged?

We have loved planning the wedding! It has been so fun to plan our dream party with our favorite people.

Q: Any advice for other couples planning their weddings?

Enjoy the wedding planning process! Be open to new ideas that you had not thought of before.

To Vince + Grace:

We had so much fun with you both during your engagement session at Fairmount Water Works. You guys crushed it! Thanks for putting up with all of our ridiculous games, prompts, and for whispering random things into each others ears. They definitely brought the real laughter out, and I think it shows in the photos. We really cannot wait for your wedding in 2022 and are looking forward to celebrating with you both! Until then, we hope you enjoy this little sneak peek from your Fairmount Water Works engagement!
