Valley Forge Engagement Session

Jim + Tracey

We met up with Jim, Tracey, and their puppy, Maple, earlier this week for their Valley Forge engagement session near the Philander Chase Knox Estate. Jim and Tracey were in Scott and Jaclyn’s bridal party at their wedding that we photographed back in June. We just remember Jim dancing his heart out to Celine Dion at their reception. We expect nothing less at their wedding next year. Overall, these two are so much fun! They laughed during the entire session, went along with our ridiculous prompts and games, and we’re just really excited to photograph their wedding in 2022.

Q: Tell us the proposal story. When did happen? How were you feeling? Did you expect it?

Jim and I planned a trip to Newport, RI this past July for a nice getaway just the two of us. He had told my family he was going to propose on the trip the first or second day. I had a feeling the engagement was going to happen on the trip but wasn’t 100 percent sure. We went on a cliff walk, took a sunset cruise, and took a ferry over to Block Island to see the Mohegan Bluffs. It was the last day of our trip. It poured that day so we didn’t do much. The sun finally came out so we went out to dinner for our last night. When we came back to the hotel we got changed into our comfy clothes and Jim then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was actually surprised because even though I thought he might propose on our trip, waiting until the last day definitely through me off. We were both so happy and afterwards we enjoyed Facetiming our families to let them know the exciting news!

Q: What’s been your favorite part about being engaged?

We’ve really enjoyed the excitement of our engagement!

Q: Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Start wedding planning early! The earlier you get into it, the less stressful it will be.
