Engagement at Cira Green

We met up with Connor and Kate for their engagement at Cira Green in Philadelphia last weekend! We had such a great time with these two as they introduced us to Cira Green rooftop overlooking the rest of the city. These two have come up here for drinks in the past and thought it’d be a great spot, and they were right! Not sure you can get a better view of the city from up here, plus you can come here to grab beer, food, and watch the Eagles or Phillies win. Such a cool place! Connor and Kate were so much fun, and we ended up wandering down to Rittenhouse area for more photos, grabbing some coffee at Ultimo Coffee Shop and taking some photos where they got engaged in Rittenhouse Square.

Q: How did the proposal happen?

A: Our engagement took place in Rittenhouse Square Park in April 2023 after a “Marathon Date.” When we first started dating, we were long distance and would take turns planning long dates exploring different cities. Our first Marathon Date was in Philly less than a week after we first met. For our engagement, Connor planned a wonderful day starting with brunch, then a Philly Art Museum visit, followed by a brewery tasting, and then a proposal picnic in the park. Our family means the world to us, so Connor capped off the night by having them all right down the street ready to celebrate with an intimate dinner. It was a joyful whirlwind of a day. Kate wasn’t expecting he was going to propose that day until Connor gave her a gentle nudge to dress up a little fancier than her original plan of t-shirt and jeans.

Q: What’s the best part about being engaged?

A: Our favorite part about being engaged has been the opportunity to celebrate our relationship and reflect on the big moments we’ve shared together. It’s also given us a great excuse to spend even more time with family and friends!

Q: Any advice for other couples planning their own wedding?

A: For couples planning a future wedding, we recommend to start researching early since we found a lot of vendors and venues book up fast! We found creating a new email address specifically for wedding planning was helpful to organize all communication in one place. We also used a shared calendar which kept track of vendor meetings and different deadlines.
