Al Fresco Wedding at Hill-Physick House

Andrew & Abby

Andrew and Abby’s al fresco wedding at Hill-Physick House in Society Hill, Philadelphia, felt like stepping back in time while celebrating a love story so timeless it could belong to any era. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this day was going to be one for the books—filled with unscripted moments, meaningful connections, and a palpable joy that lingered in the air.

Abby began her morning surrounded by her mom and sister, sharing laughter and excitement as she got ready for the day. One of the most touching moments was her first look with her dad, who couldn’t hold back tears when he saw his daughter in her stunning gown, complete with a long train and elegant sheer gloves.

Andrew and Abby chose to see each other for the first time at the 18th Century Gardens near Independence Hall. Andrew’s reaction as he turned to see his bride was priceless—his look of pure shock and love will forever be one of our favorite moments. The gardens, Carpenter’s Hall, and Society Hill’s cobblestone streets provided a romantic backdrop for portraits. Their small bridal party, just Andrew’s twin brother and Abby’s sister made the day feel intimate and effortless.

The Hill-Physick House was the perfect venue for their ceremony. Its rich history and Federal-style architecture created a unique and warm atmosphere. Their outdoor ceremony in the private gardens, timed perfectly with sunset, was filled with heartfelt vows, laughter, and happy tears. Following the ceremony, cocktail hour took place inside the historic home and outside in the gardens, with toasts delivered from the side balcony overlooking the scene.

Their al fresco reception was nothing short of magical. Long tables adorned with colorful blooms in decorative bottles and candlelight stretched beneath glowing string lights. Instead of a high-energy dance party, the evening was about meaningful conversation, laughter, and simply being together—a testament to Andrew and Abby’s priorities.

They trusted us to document their day on both film and digital, allowing us to focus on organic, spontaneous moments. Shooting film for such an emotional day felt like a perfect fit, and processing it ourselves ensured we stayed connected to the final result.

Thanks to Taylor Emily Events, the day flowed seamlessly, leaving everyone—us included—feeling zero stress. Abby and Andrew’s wedding was a true reflection of them: full of love, laughter, and presence. It was an honor to capture their al fresco wedding at Hill-Physick House.
