Alex & Emily’s November wedding at Cescaphe Water Works in Philadelphia was an unforgettable black-tie celebration filled with love, laughter, and lots of wind! We had the honor of capturing both photo and video coverage, and are so in love with how everything turned out. Watch their highlight film here!
The day started in the heart of the city. The groomsmen got ready at Sofitel Rittenhouse Hotel, while the bridesmaids, dressed in elegant black gowns from Lulu’s, prepped at Hotel Palomar just across the street. Alex and Emily shared a romantic first look in Rittenhouse Square, followed by portraits as they strolled back toward their shuttle.
November Wedding at Water Works
Upon arriving at Water Works, we were immediately met with insane wind—there was truly no way around it! Despite the challenge, we embraced the elements and captured awesome bridal party portraits on the promenade. The wind added a cinematic touch to their portraits if we’re honest.
Their ceremony overlooked the river, creating a breathtaking backdrop as they exchanged vows. Cocktail hour followed in the historic Engine Room. Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres before heading to the reception. The clear-top tent on the Mill House Deck glowed under the night sky. Elegant florals decorated the space in ivory and green creating a timeless and romantic ambiance.
High Energy Reception
Emotions ran high during heartfelt speeches from Emily’s father, the best man, and both maids of honor. Guests laughed, cried, and toasted to the newlyweds before the dance floor officially opened.
One of the most epic moments of the night? The Mummers surprised everyone as Emily and Alex re-entered the party with Emily now wearing a short, chic cocktail dress. The energy in the room skyrocketed as guests joined them for an unforgettable night of nonstop dancing.
Alex and Emily’s wedding was everything a Water Works celebration should be: elegant, romantic, and full of life. We couldn’t be more grateful to have been a part of it. Cheers to the newlyweds!
