Serve 2014

A Week Of Service

Moose crossing. That was what the sign read. The minivan was loud, filled with the chatter of high school senior boys. Jesus music played as some the guys prayed as we were driving through the last stretch of deserted road through the thick green of country Vermont. Steph & I were leaders on an annual mission trip our youth group runs every year. We were students for years on these trips that changed our lives and have since graduated to leader status.

We arrived at Floodbrook Elementary which would serve as our home base for the week. Josiah would co-lead a group of guys who did trail work.

Steph would co-lead a group of guys and girls that stacked wood at the Colonial House Inn.

Best part of working there was that at the end if the day, Jeff who owned the Inn, would bring out some fresh pie. To this day it is the best pie I have ever had.

At the end of each night we would have worship, a message and small group where we would dive deeper into God’s love and how to let Jesus turn your life upside down.

We love these trips and love encouraging the spiritual lives of the students because we have been in their shoes and know how difficult life can be at their age.
