A Spring Engagement

We had a blast shooting with JD & Molly this past weekend at Peddler’s Village! It was the nicest spring day and so we just enjoyed the weather and wandered around the village. JD & Molly had been here before, but it was our first time so they showed us around and told us a bit about the shops and events that take place at Peddler’s Village. JD & Molly are super sweet and we felt like we could instantly be ourselves around them. They were up for anything and made us feel really comfortable photographing them! These two are seriously pros! They picked up on everything so quickly and made our job super easy! We cannot wait for their wedding this November at Warrington Country Club.

Their Engagement Story

JD popped the question on August 14, 2016 while him and Molly were down in North Carolina. Molly’s family drove to Top Sail, NC for their vacation. It was the first time in a while that they had all gone on a family trip together. It was Molly’s family, along with her aunt, uncle, and cousins. JD & Molly had been talking about getting engaged for quite some time, but she never expected it to happen on vacation. She knew about JD’s ideas, but always thought he would ask the day of college graduation because they spoke about waiting until she finished her last semester. That wasn’t the case! Apparently, he had her whole family in on the plan.

Now, Molly isn’t one who enjoys surprises, so she didn’t think he would do something so crazy. The day of the proposal, everyone was over at their place eating dinner. After dinner, JD had asked Molly if she wanted to take a walk on the beach. Molly shrugged it off and didn’t want to go, but he insisted that they should take advantage of  the sunset! She finally gave in and agreed to go with him. Everyone else sat outside on the deck “enjoying the weather.” As Molly & JD walked down to the beach, she noticed everyone started moving closer to the railing, which she found a bit odd. After all, they were only walking to the beach. Yet, she still didn’t think anything of it.  Her family waved their hands at them telling them to go enjoy themselves. You would think she would’ve caught on! Nope, not yet.

It wasn’t until she saw JD’s writing in the sand, “Will you Marry Me?” Did she finally get the memo! It didn’t really hit her until JD was down on one knee asking her to marry him. She remembers being in complete shock especially since he was able to pull off a surprise without me finding out about it AND having her whole family in on the plan! She struggled to find words and was so caught up in the moment. Molly says, “It was the most beautiful engagement a girl could ask for!” We always spoke about a beach engagement and on that day, their talk turned into reality.

“If I could relive that moment, I would a hundred times. I still look back at those photos, and think to myself how lucky I am.”
