James & Megan
It was a cloudy, chilly day when we arrived at Princeton University for James & Megan’s engagement session. People filled the campus and cars packed the roadways. We were lucky we even found parking! Thankfully, these two are so go-with-the-flow and allowed us to find some beautiful locations with hardly any people around! James & Megan actually met right here on Princeton’s Campus at the Witherspoon Grill! They are so sweet, genuine and have the best laughs! They are so photogenic and despite being nervous, they did everything right, sometimes without us directing them! We cannot wait for their wedding this October at Pearl S. Buck Estate is Perkasie, PA!
Their Engagement Story:
Megan & James took a trip to Denver, Colorado to visit friends for Labor Day weekend. Megan wondered if James would pop the question while out hiking in the mountains (one of their favorite activities). The vacation passed with no hint of it happening during the trip. James acted calm and cool, so she figured it wouldn’t happen soon and pushed the idea from her mind.
Their flight home landed late and James began acting slightly off. He got a coffee after 10pm and worried about how long it would take to get home). Megan remained completely oblivious and didn’t think anything of it. As they drove back to their apartment, James asked Megan, “What do you think our dogs are doing right now?” She said that they were probably cuddled up with her mom, who had been watching the pups while they were away.
As they walked up to their apartment, Megan thought she heard their dog, Eddie, barking, but being jet-lagged (and still oblivious) she assumed it was just her ears playing tricks on her after the loud plane ride. When they opened the door to their apartment, Eddie happily greeted them, tail wagging and wearing a red bow tie with the ring tied to it! James had coordinated the whole surprise with the help of Megan’s mom, who was outside waiting to come up with their then puppy Lana (they feared Lana might swallow the ring if left alone with Eddie!). Megan was in complete shock and could not believe James had just proposed! Being able to surprise her, incorporating their dogs, and proposing in their first apartment together made it all so special and unforgettable.
James & Megan, we loved spending every second talking and laughing with you this past weekend! We hope you had a fun time, too! Your puppies are so sweet and we also can’t wait to see them again 🙂 Until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorites from your engagement session!
