Fort Hunter Engagement Session in Harrisburg, PA

Rob + Kaylin

Rob + Kaylin crushed their engagement session at Fort Hunter in Harrisburg, PA not long ago. It was so nice to finally meet them in person and actually have face to face contact after going so long without seeing anyone. Don’t worry, we definitely kept our distance, but I really missed interacting with our couples. Rob + Kaylin did such a wonderful job in front of camera. They’re both so sweet and they laughed with one another the entire time. Between exploring Fort Hunter, meeting them, and have the sun come out to turn the sky into an explosion of warm golds, reds, and pinks certainly made for a wonderful evening.

How Did Rob Propose?

Kaylin: Rob and I got engaged on November 23, 2019 on a boat off the coast of Miami. We were about to go on a trip to Costa Rica for Thanksgiving and decided to spend the weekend in Miami before our flight on Monday. Rob is the planner in our relationship so I did not find it suspicious for him to plan a boat ride for Saturday evening. Just as the sun was setting, the captain asked us to climb on the front of the boat to take pictures. I reluctantly agreed, as the boat was rocking and I was scared to fall overboard. Thank goodness I agreed because as we were taking pictures, Rob got down on one knee.

At first I thought he was just tying his shoe, but at second glance, I realized what was happening. After over seven years of dating, I was beyond shocked. I kept asking him, “Is this for real? Are you joking?”. Of course he immediately confirmed it was real! The captain was able to capture the most perfect picture of the engagement with the sun setting behind the Miami skyline in the background. Thankfully, through the shock of the entire thing, I managed not to fall overboard. The captain brought us to a dinner reservation on the water where we celebrated our new engagement. I could not have imagined a more perfect proposal!

What’s Been Your Favorite Part About Being Engaged?

Kaylin: Our favorite part of being engaged has been being able to share the wedding planning process together. It has been so much fun touring venues, trying different tastings, and deciding on other vendors. Thankfully, Rob and I have similar visions for our wedding so the decisions have gone smoothly!

Any tips for future couples planning their wedding?

Kaylin: Our advice to future couples planning their weddings would be to take the process slowly. We decided on a 17 month engagement, which has given us plenty of time to plan the wedding at our own pace and truly enjoy the process.

To Rob + Kaylin:

Thank you guys for driving all the up to Harrisburg for the session! I had such an awesome time with you both and I really can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you, but until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorites from your engagement session!
