Central Park Engagement Session

We had the chance to another Central Park engagement session last week, this time with Jeremy + April! We’ve been here a few times and no matter how often we go, I can’t get over how huge Central Park is. These two did such a wonderful job in front of camera! They were both so easy to work with and kept smiling throughout the entire session. Thanks for making our job easy, guys!

Q: Tell us your full proposal story. When and how did it happen?

We met our senior year at Lafayette College. I didn’t think anything of it when my friends from Lafayette reached out to me to reunite on campus on a spring day in April. When I arrived, my friend and I walked around and then went to our favorite diner. After our meal, my friend had to “take a call” and stepped outside. To my surprise, the manager of the restaurant handed me an envelope. The envelope contained a clue from Jeremy telling me to go to where we first met on campus. It also instructed me to go outside and find my ride. I was so shocked that I sat there for a few minutes before leaving. When I finally collected myself and went outside, my brother, wearing a chauffeur hat and everything, was waiting to take me to my next destination.

That kicked off a scavenger hunt throughout the campus and the surrounding town of Easton, PA. Each spot on the scavenger hunt highlighted different memories throughout our relationship and had a puzzle piece and gift for me to collect. The last stop took me to the Lafayette College Crew boathouse, where I spent a lot of my time in college. The pathway down to the dock was lined with rose petals and had a gorgeous set up of lanterns, signs, flowers, champagne, cushions, and even a quilt from my late grandmother. And of course, on the table, there was one singular puzzle piece for me to fit together the pieces I collected, spelling out will you marry me.

It was a genuinely magical moment watching Jeremy walk down the pathway to me and get down on one knee. After the proposal, my siblings, friend, and Jeremy’s sister popped out from behind the boathouse. They all were all in on it, helping Jeremy execute all the different stops and set up. It was so unique that they were able to be there with us. After taking some pictures around campus, Jeremy surprised me once again with a five-course chef’s table with our families, complete with food and drinks that were memorable to our relationship and places we’ve traveled. It was indeed a proposal straight out of a movie and was the best day of our lives.

Q: What’s been your favorite part about being engaged?

All the love and happiness we feel and being able to share it with our friends and family. We are looking forward to all the memories we will create as we commit to each other for the rest of our lives.

Q: Any advice you have for other people who are planning their own weddings?

Don’t forget to enjoy the wedding planning process! Start planning early so you have time to take it all in. It can be stressful, but also planning the big day is a lot of fun!
