Trust is the name of the game in wedding photography. And Patrick & Joy gave it to me. Their whimsical wedding at The Farm Bakery & Events was a dream to photograph. This place is magic. The light is gorgeous. Every space is perfect. Someone bring me back here for another wedding! Please! And to top it off, Patrick & Joy had the most free-flowing, do-what-you-want, have as much freedom and fun as possible type of wedding. It was a giant backyard party with games, cornhole, great drinks, incredible food, s’mores around a fire pit, and the best golden hour I’ve seen all year. Can’t forget about dancing barefoot in the grass as a folk trio plays on from the patio. It was the best.

Patrick & Joy are the sweetest couple. I knew the moment they reached out that I wanted to photograph them and their wedding. They said that they wanted to think of this day as “their beginning,” and I loved that. They wanted photos that showcased their personality and photos that felt genuine and authentic. We knew that Patrick and Joy were going to be present, and have as much fun as possible. That paired with their trust meant we could just create photographs filled with emotion because when you’re having a good time, the photos make themselves. And they did. It was an incredible day!

We sweat it out, didn’t we?! But man was it worth it celebrating and creating these alongside you. I say alongside you because you were both so collaborative in this process. Photographing you was unbelievably fun and I would do it any day of the week (seriously, let’s do this again sometime)! Thanks for bringing me along to your beginning and allowing me to play a small role in crafting memories for you both. I cannot wait to hear your reactions to these photos, and I hope you’re just as obsessed as we are.
