Sean & Christina
Sean and Christina did things a little differently. Instead of a large, traditional wedding, they decided on an intimate wdding and a Phillies game. They chose to get married on a Wednesday, and it might be one of my favorite weddings ever. They kept it tiny on purpose. Just sixteen people, a handful of places they love, and zero pressure. It felt honest and joyful from the very start.
They got ready separately at The Notary with their families. Christina’s sisters handled hair and makeup for the bride. Sean hung out with his brothers and dad. The morning felt slow, relaxed, and full of excitement.
A Ceremony at Love Park
We met at City Hall for their first look. They smiled immediately, and you could feel the nerves fall away. They shared private vows and then walked to Love Park together for their ceremony. Sean & Christina gathered in front of the Love statue with strangers cheering from the sidelines. People stopped and watched, phones out, clearly rooting for them. It was sweet and chaotic in the best way.
We stayed there for family photos before heading out for portraits, bouncing around the city, stopping by the Rodin Museum, the Art Museum, and Water Works. Each stop gave us completely different vibes. We ended in Rittenhouse Square for lunch at The Dandelion. The food was incredible. The speeches were emotional. They even cut their cake at the table. It felt like one long family dinner, not a wedding reception, and I loved it. I got to sit with the grandparents and heard all about their family. It was truly very lovely.
A Phillies Reception
After lunch, everyone went back to change into Phillies gear. We met again at Citizens Bank Park for the Phillies and Mets game. They rented a private suite with food, drinks, and its own bathroom! I may never recover from that level of luxury. We wandered the stadium for photos before the first pitch. Then we watched the Phillies absolutely dominate the Mets.
It was one of the coolest wedding days I’ve ever photographed. Sean and Christina moved to Philly years ago. They wanted to show their families the city they love. They built a wedding that matched who they are, not what they were “supposed” to do. I wish more people did that. It was perfect.
